National Heart Month

FEBRUARY IS NATIONAL HEART MONTH SO IT’S TIME TO GIVE YOUR HEART A FIGHTING CHANCE

We all want to be healthy, right? But just how many of us have had the impetus to take back our health? At Asanté we think that with February being National Health Month, this is the perfect opportunity to take a stand and start being kind to your heart.

Did you know that one of the most important strategies per the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to live a heart-healthy lifestyle is to cut back (or eliminate) fatty animal meats and dairy and switch to a diet heavy in vegetables and fruit? The CDC also recommends consuming less saturated fat and added sugars.

Our Asanté products are a great way to begin being kind to your heart and start living a healthy lifestyle. We make our products from fresh, clean, healthy ingredients grown by local farmers in Mexico. And don’t worry for a second about not getting enough protein. Every package of Asanté foods are packed with at least 40 grams of protein.

Now that we’ve solved your dietary challenges, what else does the CDC recommend to live healthier?

LEARN YOUR HEALTH HISTORY—Know your risks and talk to your family and your doctor about how you can overcome these obstacles to good health

MOVE MORE, SIT LESS—Netflix and Chill is great but you can’t forget that a body in motion tends to stay in motion. Walk, run, do yoga, bike by the beach, whatever you want. Just keep moving!

QUIT SMOKING—The CDC has a 1-800-QUIT-NOW phone number to help you start quitting tobacco products

TAKE MEDICINES AS DIRECTED— If you take medicine to treat high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or diabetes, follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. Always ask questions if you don’t understand something and get your family involved as well

RETHINK YOUR DRINK—Substitute water for sugary drinks to reduce calories and your sugar intake

MONITOR YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE AT HOME— Self-measured blood pressure monitors (SMBPs) are easy and safe to use and your doctor can show you how to use one if you need help.

Pretty easy, right? Check out the CDC website for more tips and further information and get started on a healthy diet and a healthier YOU today with Asanté.
