You can find restaurants with delicious snacks to continue your walk through the neighborhood, fast food if you are in a hurry, the perfect place for a date, or pamper yourself with a 100% plant-based gourmet meal.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN’S FUNERAL TRAIN
If you are a history enthusiast, you should know that the South Loop has witnessed some great and important events. In 1865, it was the scene of President Abraham Lincoln's funeral procession, his impressive train traveling from Michigan Avenue to Lake Street and then on Clark Street to Court House Square was one of the most memorable moments in the neighborhood's history.
HOST OF LOLLAPALOOZA!
Since 2005, the South Loop's Grand Park has been home to the Lollapalooza music festival, one of the biggest musical events worldwide. This 2022, it will take place from July 28th to 31st and will have the participation of over 100 artists; Metallica, Green Day, Machine Gun Kelly and Doja Cat are only some of the names that stand out on this year's lineup.
AN URBAN MUSEUM!
Walking through Chicago's Loop is like walking through a huge urban museum that is within the reach of anyone's enjoyment. More than ten sculptures can be seen, including works by Pablo Picasso, Miró, Chagall and Calder, among others. Murals and installations are also appreciated, such as Art on theMART; the largest public video projection installation in the world. In addition to having several galleries and museums, it is also home to specialized art schools, such as Columbia College Art & Design Building.
BREAK THE ROUTINE AT LAKE MICHIGAN!
If one day you are open to an adventure, from the Loop, you can embark on a tour of Lake Michigan. It has several types of routes, where you can see everything from historic mansions, colossal bridges, beautiful beaches and impressive sand dunes.
A COMMUNITY INTEREST IN SUSTAINABILITY!
The South Loop community also shows an interest in creating a sustainable space and culture.
